Chinese Robot Sets Guinness World Record with 66-Mile Walk
JINJI LAKE, China — November 25, 2025 — Chinese technology company AgiBot has set a new Guinness World Record for the longest journey walked by a humanoid robot. Their robot, named A2, completed a 66-mile (106.286 kilometers) walk from Jiangsu Province to Shanghai in a single continuous trek.
The walk began at Jinji Lake in Suzhou and ended at the Bund in Shanghai. The robot was able to maintain operation throughout the 24-hour journey by using a specially designed system that allowed it to swap batteries without stopping.
According to officials, A2 adhered to all traffic laws during the walk and navigated a variety of surfaces, including asphalt roads, tiled pavements, ramps, and bridges. The robot also encountered complex scenarios such as crowds along the route, demonstrating its reliability and advanced capabilities.
At the conclusion of the walk, A2 interacted with reporters and humorously noted it might “need a new pair of shoes,” according to the Global Times.
This achievement marks a significant milestone in robotics, showcasing the potential for humanoid robots to operate autonomously over long distances in real-world environments.
