BELLEAIR, Fla. — November 25, 2025 — Kai Trump, granddaughter of former President Donald Trump, made her LPGA debut at The ANNIKA tournament held at Pelican Golf Club, where she faced challenges but gained important experience, officials said. The 18-year-old high school senior shot an 83 in the first round, placing last among 108 players, and followed with a five-over 75 in the second round. Despite the improvement, she did not make the cut.

Trump, who will play college golf at the University of Miami next year, described feeling nervous during her first round but more at ease in the second, which contributed to her better performance. “For the first day I was definitely really nervous. I think the nerves just got to me,” she said. “When I went out there today, I felt peaceful.”

Golf star Bryson DeChambeau, who previously shared a moment with Trump at the Ryder Cup, commended her effort and resilience. “She shot five-over the second round, which is really impressive,” DeChambeau told Fox News Digital. “We didn’t know how she was going to do, she handled herself very well, and what a great opportunity.”

DeChambeau also spoke with tournament host Annika Sorenstam about Trump’s participation, noting that many players invited to similar events have faced difficulties but benefited from the experience. “It’s a great opportunity,” he said. “She’s a grinder and a competitor, and it’s fun to see her out there competing with some of the best in the world, even though there’s a long way to go.”

Trump’s debut at The ANNIKA provided her with exposure to high-level competition and a chance to develop her game ahead of her collegiate career. Observers highlighted her poise and potential despite the initial results, emphasizing the value of the experience for a young amateur golfer stepping onto the professional stage.
