Patriots Place Left Tackle Will Campbell on Injured Reserve with Knee Injury
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — November 26, 2025 — The New England Patriots have placed star left tackle Will Campbell on injured reserve due to a knee injury sustained during their recent victory, head coach Mike Vrabel announced Wednesday. Campbell, the No. 4 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, was carted off the field in the third quarter of the Patriots’ 26-20 win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.
The 21-year-old offensive lineman will be eligible to return for the team’s Week 18 game against the Miami Dolphins. In his absence, Vederian Lowe is expected to start at left tackle. The Patriots, currently 10-2 and winners of nine straight games, lead the AFC East and will face the Buffalo Bills, who hold a 7-4 record, in Week 15—a game Campbell will miss.
The Patriots’ offensive line has undergone significant changes since last season, contributing to the team’s turnaround from a 4-13 record in 2024. Last year’s Week 1 offensive line featured Chukwuma Okorafor at left tackle, Michael Jordan at left guard, David Andrews at center, Layden Robinson at right guard, and Michael Onwenu at right tackle. This season, the lineup includes Campbell at left tackle, Jared Wilson at left guard, Garrett Bradbury at center, Onwenu at right guard, and Morgan Moses at right tackle.
The revamped offensive line has played a key role in the development of second-year quarterback Drake Maye, who is currently among the NFL leaders in completion percentage and passing yards. Maye has completed 71% of his passes for 3,130 yards, with 21 touchdowns and six interceptions in 12 games. Improved protection from the offensive line has been a major factor in his performance.
However, the Patriots may face further challenges on the offensive line, as left guard Jared Wilson also left the game against the Bengals with an injury. It remains unclear if Wilson will be available for the upcoming game against the New York Giants on Monday.
The Patriots continue to prepare for the stretch run of the season as they aim to maintain their position atop the AFC East.
