Bengals’ Joe Burrow Declines Maryland Crabs After Thanksgiving Win Over Ravens

BALTIMORE, Md. — Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow showed little interest in Maryland crabs served during the team’s postgame Thanksgiving meal after their win over the Baltimore Ravens, officials said.

Following the Bengals’ 32-14 victory on Thursday night, Burrow and most of his teammates joined NBC sideline reporter Melissa Stark at a dinner table set up at M&T Bank Stadium, a tradition for NFL Thanksgiving Day games. When presented with a hard-shell crab, Burrow picked it up, sniffed it, and asked Stark what it was. Upon learning it was a Maryland crab, he put it back and shook his head, making a sour face as if he had tasted something unpleasant.

While the rest of the team enjoyed turkey, Burrow declined the local delicacy. He later told Stark that his favorite Thanksgiving dish was pumpkin pie.

Burrow’s performance on the field was notable as he completed 24 of 46 passes for 261 yards and two touchdowns, connecting with receivers Andrei Iosivas and Tanner Hudson. This game marked his return after missing several weeks due to a turf toe injury sustained in Week 2. Despite the injury, Burrow played with a carbon fiber turf toe plate in his shoe and helped secure a crucial win for the Bengals.

“It’s great to be back,” Burrow said after the game. “Certainly not an easy thing to go through, but this moment makes everything worth it. Good to be back out with the guys.”

The Bengals remain in playoff contention but face pressure to avoid further losses as the season progresses.
