Las Vegas Tourist Wins Over $1.15 Million on $25 Bet at Fontainebleau Casino
LAS VEGAS, Nev. — December 3, 2025 — A tourist visiting Las Vegas won a jackpot exceeding $1.15 million with a $25 bet on a slot machine at the Fontainebleau resort and casino on Thanksgiving Day, officials said. The visitor, who chose to remain anonymous, was playing the Dragon Link slot machine when the jackpot was hit.
The win occurred on November 27, during the holiday weekend, highlighting a significant payout despite the relatively small wager. The Dragon Link game is a high-limit slot machine popular among casino visitors.
Las Vegas tourism has experienced a decline in recent months, with just over 3 million visitors recorded in September, representing an 8.8% decrease compared to the previous year, according to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCA). Despite this drop in visitor numbers, gaming revenue on the Las Vegas Strip has increased by 5.5%, while the downtown area has seen an even larger rise of over 8%, officials said.
Visitors to Las Vegas have expressed concerns about rising prices in the city. Some tourists noted that costs for food and beverages, including coffee and drinks, were higher than expected. For example, one visitor from the United Kingdom mentioned paying $20 for two coffees, while others reported paying $12 to $14 for individual drinks. These price points have been cited by some as a factor contributing to the decline in tourism.
The recent jackpot win at Fontainebleau adds to the ongoing narrative of Las Vegas as a destination where significant gambling wins remain possible, even amid broader economic and tourism challenges.
