Actor Adam Shapiro Shares Insight Into Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio’s Enduring Friendship

LOS ANGELES — Actor Adam Shapiro recently offered a glimpse into the close friendship between Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio during an appearance on the General Meeting with Becky Sloviter podcast. Shapiro, who worked with Winslet on the 2015 film “Steve Jobs,” described an evening in 2016 when Winslet invited him and his partner to join her and DiCaprio for dinner at the actor’s home in Los Angeles.

Shapiro recalled that after the 2016 Screen Actors Guild Awards, Winslet suggested they dine together with their partners. When Shapiro offered to take Winslet out, she explained that she always stays with DiCaprio when in town and invited them to his home instead. The group stopped at a liquor store to pick up a bottle of scotch and some snacks before arriving at DiCaprio’s residence. Shapiro described the scene as Winslet, dressed in an elegant gown and barefoot, handed the scotch to DiCaprio, while he offered a bag of cheddar Goldfish crackers, which DiCaprio gratefully accepted. The evening included champagne and convivial company, leaving Shapiro impressed by the experience.

Winslet and DiCaprio’s friendship dates back nearly three decades to their roles as Jack and Rose in the 1997 film “Titanic.” They reunited on screen in 2008’s “Revolutionary Road” and have maintained a close relationship since, with DiCaprio even walking Winslet down the aisle at her 2012 wedding to Edward Abel Smith, also known as Ned Rocknroll.

Their bond is well documented, with both actors frequently expressing admiration for one another in interviews and public appearances. Despite public speculation, Winslet has consistently stated that their relationship has never been romantic.
