NEW YORK — November 28, 2025 — An alleged confrontation between actors Ryan Reynolds and Justin Baldoni has come to light amid ongoing legal disputes involving Baldoni and Blake Lively, according to documents obtained by media outlets. The incident reportedly took place in April 2023 at Reynolds’ penthouse in New York City, where Reynolds is said to have confronted Baldoni over comments related to Lively’s weight.

The dispute centers on allegations that Baldoni inquired about Lively’s weight with her fitness trainer while preparing for a scene in which his character would lift hers. The inquiry was reportedly made to ensure Baldoni could perform the lift safely due to his back issues. The documents claim Reynolds accused Baldoni of “fat-shaming” Lively during the meeting, which was described as “inappropriate and humiliating.” Baldoni was said to be “completely embarrassed” and reportedly apologized, even shedding tears during the confrontation.

According to an unsealed email referenced by People magazine, celebrities Taylor Swift and Hugh Jackman were present at the penthouse during the meeting. Both have been named as potential witnesses in the ongoing legal proceedings. Swift’s representatives have denied her involvement in the film “It Ends with Us,” which is central to the legal case, stating she was not involved in any casting, creative decisions, or production aspects and was on tour during the relevant period.

The legal context includes a lawsuit filed by Lively against Baldoni in December 2024, alleging sexual harassment and retaliation, with a trial scheduled for March 2026. Baldoni has denied the allegations and countersued Lively for $400 million, as well as filing a $250 million defamation suit against The New York Times related to coverage of the case. The defamation suit has since been dismissed.

The documents also allege that Baldoni called Lively’s fitness trainer without her knowledge or permission and implied a desire for Lively to lose weight within two weeks, which Lively’s legal team described as humiliating. Representatives for Reynolds, Swift, and Jackman have not publicly responded to the allegations. BuzzFeed and other outlets have reached out for comment.

The situation remains part of a broader legal dispute involving multiple lawsuits and public statements, with further developments expected as the trial date approaches.
