NASHVILLE, Tenn. — December 4, 2025 — Dolly Parton is bringing her decades of travel experience and Southern hospitality to Tennessee highways through a new partnership with Tennessean Travel Stops. The country music star announced the launch of Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stops, a reimagined series of highway rest areas designed to offer enhanced entertainment and comfort for truckers, families, and road trippers.

Parton, who has spent much of her life touring and traveling across the country, said her years on the road have given her insight into what travelers need. “I have spent the bulk of my life on the road, and more specifically on a bus,” she said in a press release. “All the years spent visiting greasy spoon cafés, truck stops and roadside pit stops have given me an understanding of what travelers desire on the road.”

The new travel stops aim to provide a welcoming environment that feels like home and helps travelers recharge for their journeys. “Whether you are driving a truck, a bus or a car, you want a place that feels like home and recharges you for the rest of your journey,” Parton said. “I believe we will fill a void out there on the highways, all while bringing the heart and soul of Tennessee.”

The partnership involves relaunching the flagship Tennessean Travel Stop in Cornersville, Tennessee, with plans to announce additional locations next year. The rest stops will incorporate entertainment elements inspired by Parton’s style and Southern roots, appealing to a broad range of travelers including families, commuters, and truck drivers.

Gregory Sachs, chairman and CEO of Tennessean Travel Stop and Sachs Capital Group, highlighted the brand’s longstanding connection to the community. “The Tennessean has long been a ‘home away from home’ for truck drivers, travelers and locals alike. Our roots in this community run deep — we’ve created jobs, built connections and welcomed generations of people through our doors,” Sachs said. “This new partnership allows us to carry that legacy forward in a way that celebrates everything special about Tennessee.”

According to state government data, drivers covered more than 227,000 miles daily on Tennessee’s roads in 2019, reflecting the importance of well-equipped rest stops. National transportation research also shows vehicle travel in Tennessee increased from about 65.7 billion miles per year in 2000 to 77.7 billion miles per year in 2016.

Parton’s involvement is expected to bring renewed attention and economic benefits to Tennessean communities through job creation and enhanced traveler experiences. The initiative reflects her commitment to sharing the culture and hospitality of her home state with those on the road.
