FBI Requests Arizona Gun Store to Cross-Check Firearm Sales in Nancy Guthrie Investigation
TUCSON, Ariz. — As the search for Nancy Guthrie extends into its third week, the FBI has taken an unusual step by directly involving a local gun store in the investigation. Phillip Martin, co-owner of Armor Bearer Arms in Tucson, revealed that an FBI agent recently visited his store carrying three pages of photographs and names. The agent requested Martin’s assistance in determining whether any of the roughly two dozen individuals had purchased firearms from his store within the past year.
“He actually had given me a list of paper, list of people that had pictures and names on it, and he wanted to know if I could help him pull up in my system if any of these people have purchased a gun in the last year,” Martin told Fox News. After reviewing the records, Martin reported that no matches were found.
This request highlights the FBI’s thorough approach in the ongoing investigation into Guthrie’s disappearance. Authorities have been employing a variety of investigative techniques, including the use of forensic genealogy and DNA analysis, to gather leads.
