ST. LOUIS, Missouri — November 25, 2025 — Former NFL quarterback Trent Green is playing a key role in the introduction of sports betting in Missouri, which is set to begin on Dec. 1, officials said. Green, who played for the St. Louis Rams and Kansas City Chiefs during his career, has partnered with Caesars Sportsbook to promote the launch of in-person sportsbooks at two Missouri casinos as well as the mobile sports betting app.

Green, who was part of the Rams team during their 1999 Super Bowl-winning season, will be visiting Harrah’s Kansas City, Horseshoe St. Louis, and Isle of Capri Booneville as part of the promotional effort. In an interview with Fox News Digital, Green expressed hope that the NFL might consider returning a team to St. Louis, despite the city currently lacking an NFL franchise.

“I certainly hope so,” Green said. “When I was in St. Louis, I was there when the football Cardinals left. I remember as a kid that was hard and I remember when I was in the NFL and the Rams decided to move to St. Louis and I remember all my high school buddies, my parents and all their friends, everybody was fired up about it. They got their (personal seat licenses), they got their season tickets, they got their plans for tailgating. It was exciting to get it back.”

He added that St. Louis has a strong fan base and supports sports, noting the success of the Blues and Cardinals in the city. “I hope they get a team back. I don’t know if the NFL will give them a third try but I definitely think it’s a great city for sports and it would be nice to see them back in St. Louis,” Green said.

Green’s connection to Missouri runs deep, having played high school football in the state and spent much of his professional career with Missouri teams. He described the arrival of sports betting in Missouri as a natural fit given his background.

“Sports betting is finally coming to the state of Missouri,” Green said. “It’s a natural tie in with me. I grew up in St. Louis. I played for the Rams a couple of different times, played for the Chiefs for six years. So, I’ve been all over the state most of my life. And the fact that sports betting is finally here, it seemed like a natural fit for us.”

Missouri’s sports betting launch will include both physical sportsbooks at casinos and a mobile app, marking a new chapter for sports fans in the state. Green’s involvement is expected to help raise awareness and enthusiasm for the new offerings.
