Former Vikings Captain Jack Brewer Highlights Somali Community Fraud Allegations in Minnesota
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — Jack Brewer, former captain of the Minnesota Vikings and CEO of The Brewer Group, has publicly addressed concerns about alleged fraud within Minnesota’s Somali community, describing a troubling transformation he has witnessed over the past three decades. Brewer, who has personal ties to the immigrant experience through his Muslim American wife, spoke candidly about the rise of what he calls the “Somali elite” and their involvement in high-end business transactions funded by taxpayer dollars.
Brewer recounted his firsthand experience with members of Minnesota’s Somali population, noting their ownership of luxury car dealerships featuring brands like Bentley and Maserati. “I know because I’ve done business with them, and I’ve been endorsed by them as an athlete,” Brewer said. However, he expressed concern that many of the customers purchasing these expensive vehicles are individuals allegedly benefiting from fraudulent welfare schemes. “They’re driving around sports cars like you would see in Beverly Hills or South Beach Miami, all off the back of the American taxpayer,” he added.
