Kansas City Chiefs’ Rashee Rice Faces Domestic Abuse Allegations from Ex-Girlfriend
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Rashee Rice, wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs, is under scrutiny after his ex-girlfriend, Dacoda Nichole, publicly accused him of domestic abuse in a social media post on Wednesday. Nichole shared photos showing bruises on her face and body, along with images of damage to a home, alleging a pattern of abuse spanning several years. The Chiefs organization confirmed awareness of the allegations and stated they are coordinating with the National Football League as the situation develops.
In a lengthy caption accompanying the images, Nichole did not name Rice directly but detailed numerous incidents she described as abusive. She wrote, “I’m so tired of keeping quiet I’m so tired of protecting his image. I’ve been through too much in a span of 8 years and I’ve had ENOUGH!” Nichole claimed that since their breakup a few months ago, her life has been “nothing but hell.”
She described Rice as “very controlling,” alleging that he had broken into her new home and physically assaulted her during pregnancy. Nichole also accused him of locking her outside in freezing temperatures after being caught cheating. “He’s cut up all my shoes and clothes leaving me with nothing because he’s gotten caught up,” she wrote, adding that Rice has been unfaithful multiple times.
The couple shares two sons, Cassai and Cayden. Nichole criticized Rice’s involvement in their children’s lives, saying, “He does the bare minimum and I have to beg for that.” She also alleged financial neglect, stating she had to plead with Rice to send money to facilitate a move from Kansas to Texas with their children.
The Chiefs issued a brief statement acknowledging the allegations: “The club is aware of the allegations on social media and is in communication with the National Football League. We have no further comment at this time.” The NFL has yet to release an official statement.
Rice’s legal troubles extend beyond these recent accusations. In 2024, he faced two third-degree felony charges related to causing a multi-car crash on a Dallas highway, for which he served 30 days in jail and was placed on five years’ probation. This incident raised concerns about his conduct off the field.
Domestic violence allegations against professional athletes have drawn increasing attention in recent years, prompting the NFL to implement stricter policies and disciplinary measures. The league’s Domestic Violence Policy outlines protocols for investigation and suspension.
Advocacy groups such as the National Domestic Violence Hotline emphasize the importance of support for survivors and thorough investigations in such cases. Law enforcement agencies typically encourage victims to report abuse promptly to ensure safety and accountability.
As this story unfolds, the Chiefs’ organization and the NFL will likely conduct internal reviews and cooperate with any law enforcement inquiries. Meanwhile, the public awaits further developments regarding Rice’s status with the team and any potential legal consequences.
