LOS ANGELES — November 29, 2025 — A number of well-known celebrities have recently voiced controversial and widely disputed beliefs, ranging from conspiracy theories about the moon landing to alternative views on science and history, according to reports.

Most recently, Kim Kardashian stated during an episode of The Kardashians that the 1969 Apollo 11 moon landing “didn’t happen.” She cited an alleged quote from astronaut Buzz Aldrin, claiming he said there was no scary moment during the mission because it was fabricated. Kardashian described the Apollo 11 mission as “fake” and referenced videos purportedly showing Aldrin denying the event. NASA’s acting administrator Sean Duffy publicly refuted these claims on social media, affirming that the United States has landed on the moon six times and highlighting ongoing space exploration efforts.

Other celebrities have also expressed unconventional beliefs. In 2017, basketball player Kyrie Irving identified as a flat-earther, a position he later apologized for amid public backlash. Rapper B.o.B. engaged in a public dispute with astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson over flat Earth theories, including releasing music tracks addressing the debate.

Musician Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, made claims disputing the circumstances of George Floyd’s death, suggesting that former police officer Derek Chauvin did not kill Floyd and alleging alternative causes. These statements led Floyd’s family to file a $250 million defamation lawsuit against Ye.

Actor Terrence Howard has publicly rejected conventional arithmetic, promoting a personal mathematical system he calls “Terryology,” which challenges basic multiplication principles.

Actor Jaden Smith has expressed beliefs in advanced, hidden technologies existing in undisclosed locations, comparing them to the fictional Wakanda from popular culture.

Former President Donald Trump has also made claims linking the use of Tylenol during pregnancy to autism, citing research that has been met with skepticism by medical experts who emphasize the difficulty of proving causal relationships.

These examples illustrate a trend of public figures sharing unconventional or debunked theories, sparking discussions and responses from experts and institutions.

The spread of such beliefs by celebrities has drawn attention to the influence of public figures on public understanding of science and history, with official sources often stepping in to clarify facts.
