Louisiana FedEx Driver Arrested After $62,000 in Stashed Packages Found in Storage Unit

BATON ROUGE, La. — Authorities in East Baton Rouge Parish arrested Tyran Jackson, a 27-year-old FedEx delivery driver, after discovering tens of thousands of dollars’ worth of undelivered packages hidden in a storage unit. The investigation began on February 13 when property theft detectives received a report about a package that had not been delivered as expected. Authorities quickly identified Jackson as a suspect in the case.

Following leads, investigators obtained a search warrant for a storage unit located on the 10500 block of Perkins Road in Baton Rouge. Inside, they uncovered approximately $62,000 worth of stolen FedEx merchandise, including Nike footwear boxes and cigars, according to the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office. Photographs released by the department showed piles of delivery boxes stacked within the unit.

Jackson was taken into custody and charged with theft. The case highlights ongoing concerns about package theft, a crime that has increased alongside the rise in e-commerce deliveries nationwide.
