Oklahoma Dog Sets Guinness World Record for Longest Tongue
OKLAHOMA — December 5, 2025 — An Oklahoma family’s dog has been officially recognized by Guinness World Records for having the longest tongue on a living dog. Ozzy, a mix of French mastiff and bull mastiff breeds owned by Angela Pick and her family, has a tongue that measures 7.83 inches in length.
The measurement surpasses the previous record held by a dog named Rocky from Bloomington, Illinois, whose tongue was measured at 5.46 inches in 2023. Ozzy’s tongue typically hangs out the side of his mouth, a feature that has been present since he was born.
Angela Pick told Guinness World Records that despite the unusual length of Ozzy’s tongue, there are no medical or dental issues affecting him. Veterinarians have examined Ozzy and confirmed that his tongue is simply abnormally long. Pick also noted that Ozzy does not lick excessively, which might be expected given the size of his tongue. Instead, he shows affection by getting close and rubbing noses rather than licking.
The record highlights a unique physical trait in dogs and adds to the list of unusual animal records documented by Guinness World Records.
