Thanksgiving Dinner Costs Decline to $55.18, Down from $64.05 Under Biden, Official Says
WASHINGTON — The average cost of a Thanksgiving dinner for 10 people has decreased to $55.18, down from a high of $64.05 during the Biden administration, according to a Trump administration official. The reduction in meal costs comes amid ongoing efforts to address inflation and lower expenses for American families.
The official highlighted that the Trump administration has implemented policies aimed at supporting American farmers and reducing the cost of food production. These measures include promoting domestic energy production to lower gas prices, increasing fertilizer production, cutting regulations to reduce business costs, and lowering taxes to allow farmers to retain more of their earnings.
Turkey farmers, who raise approximately 200 million turkeys annually on about 2,500 farms across the United States, have faced challenges such as bird flu and other risks impacting small businesses. Despite these obstacles, the agricultural community continues to supply Thanksgiving tables nationwide.
The official emphasized that the administration’s efforts are part of a broader initiative to “Make America Affordable Again” by taming inflation and reversing price increases that occurred under the previous administration. Specific food items such as turkey, stuffing mix, dinner rolls, and eggs have all seen price decreases compared to the previous year.
While acknowledging that correcting inflation cannot happen overnight, the official expressed confidence that the federal government is working daily to reduce costs for everyday families. The reported figures reflect the average cost of a traditional homemade Thanksgiving dinner, underscoring a return to more normal pricing after record inflation during the Biden presidency.
