LANDOVER, Md. — December 1, 2025 — Washington Commanders wide receiver Treylon Burks made a notable one-handed touchdown catch during Sunday night’s game against the Denver Broncos, officials said. The catch occurred late in the second half as Commanders quarterback Marcus Mariota led a drive nearing the five-minute mark. On the 10th play of the drive, Mariota threw a lob pass to Burks in the corner of the end zone. Burks reached up with his right hand and secured the ball over Broncos cornerback Riley Moss for the go-ahead touchdown, giving Washington a 14-13 lead.

This touchdown marked the second of Burks’ NFL career. Burks was selected 18th overall in the 2022 NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans but scored only one touchdown in 27 games with that team. His appearance with the Commanders on Sunday was only his third game with Washington, where he had recorded four catches for 72 yards prior to the matchup.

The catch drew comparisons from fans and commentators to a famous one-handed grab by former New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. in 2014. Despite Burks’ impressive play, the Broncos ultimately won the game in overtime, 27-26. Plays like Burks’ catch are seen as important for his efforts to secure a roster spot with the Commanders moving forward.
